Changing Perspective

Changing Perspective

There’s an old riddle that askes how you put an elephant in a bottle using a tweezers.  The answer is simple.  All you need to do is find a pari of high-powered binoculars – and look through the wrong end.  Once you do that, use the tweezers to pick up the elephant and deposit it in the bottle.

In business, challenges that appear impossible can be simple, too.  Sometimes all it takes is looking at a problem differently.

But regrettably, we are all prisoners of our own perspective.  It is only natural – and probably inevitable – that we see problems through the lens of our own experiences.  And our egos reinforce our biases.  Now and then, all of us need to take a step back and change our perspective in order to succeed.  Be cognizant fo your own background and predispositions.  Question whether you are a captive of them.  You might find that when flip the binoculars around, the solution to your predicament is right in front of your nose.
